The second outcome is about some real joined up thinking about the welcome we give to both our overseas and local disabled visitors, it is about giving a better offer, a better experience than all the other regions in the UK.
It is also about local people being involved in local projects, such as heritage open days, about leading the way across the country for making our historic buildings and places accessible and using disabled people’s thinking as part of this.
The third is about building upon the talent we already have in the South East region. Its about supporting disabled people to showcase their arts work and to develop their leadership skills. More art work will be made for and seen in the built and natural environment through a programme that will support people to make work in new more visible places and spaces. There will be opportunities for disabled people to be involved in sport as participants, coaches, adminstrators and event organisers, so raising the profile of disability sport.
The fourth is about exploring the history of The Paralympic Games and the history of the movement and beyond this exploring disabled people's histories through looking at new ways of recording and interpreting people’s stories that will develop new ways for our communities to explore their history or heritage.
The fifth outcome is about wanting the world and the people in the region to really recognise that the Cultural Olympiad - the big arts programme for 2012 - has already begun and is going to get bigger and better. We want the world’s media to recognise the south east whilst celebrating local talent and local creativity and see just what disabled people can achieve.
